2026 meeting

The 2026 meeting will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the South Carolina Society for Philosophy. The meeting will be on March 13-14 on the Furman University campus in South Carolina. A map of campus can be found here. Presentations will all take place in Furman Hall. The poster session will be in the Plyler Science Center, and the reception will be in Younts Conference Center.The keynote speaker will be Alexandra Plakias, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Hamilton College.

Travel recommendations

Furman University is serviced locally by the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), which is located about 30 minutes from the University by car. Conference attendees arriving by flight might also consider the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), which is approximately 45 minutes away, or the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), which is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes away.

Parking

For those driving to the conference, parking will be free on campus. When entering from the main entrance there will be signs directing participants to the designated parking lot, which is on the north side of the chapel. Lodging

There are no special rates for the conference so find whatever best deals you can. Downtown Greenville: more expensive typically, but great location and access to all the cool stuff if you want to hang out in the evenings)

Near Furman (closer to campus and downtown Travelers Rest, typically a bit cheaper but further from all the action in downtown Greenville)

  • Tenure Line Faculty: $40
  • Non-tenure Line Faculty and Independent Scholars: $25
  • Graduate Students: $20
  • Undergraduate Students: $5

The fee is to be paid at the registration desk via Venmo or in cash with the exact amount.
